On the fourth ball of the penultimate over during India’s opening clash against United States of America (USA) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai from the T20 World Cup 2026, Suryakumar Yadav played one of the craziest shots in the end as India finished with 161/9 in their allotted 20 overs with their captain remaining unbeaten on 84 runs in 49 balls at a strike rate of 171.40, thanks to 10 boundaries and four sixes. 

On the fourth ball of the 19th over, Suryakumar Yadav went down on his knee and the wide delivery over deep square leg for a massive six, as not only the crowd but even the USA players appreciated that strike from the Indian captain. He showed his fearsome batting in the last over against Sourabh Netravalkar by scoring 21 runs in just six deliveries.

The very first delivery of the last over was squeezed through the gap between backward point and point region against the off cutter of the bowler for a boundary before the Indian captain walked out of his crease and scooped the delivery over fine leg for a massive six.

The third delivery of the over from the left-arm pacer was a juicy full toss outside the off stump against the batter as Sky lofted it over a long off region for a massive six. On the very next delivery, Suryakumar Yadav went down on his knee again and scooped the ball over the short fine leg for another boundary.

India finished with 161 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their allotted 20 overs as the next best score after Sky was Tilak Verma in the scorecard, who made 25 runs in 16 balls, thanks to his three boundaries and one six at a strike rate of 156.25.

For the USA, two bowlers, Ali Khan and Shubham Ranjane, left the field after injuring themselves, as Schalkwyk finished with fine figures of 4/25 in his four overs at an economy rate of 6.20.
