The dip in the form of Suryakumar Yadav, the Indian T20I captain, was a headache for him despite him not revealing it in public. But his unbeaten knock of 82 runs in 37 balls at a strike rate of 221.62, thanks to nine boundaries and four sixes, completed India’s seven-wicket victory in the second T20I of the five-match series against New Zealand in Raipur, during the 209-run chase.

After the end of the clash, as teams were lined up for the customary handshake, Sky walked up to Raghu, the thrower of the national side, and touched his feet to take blessings as the video went viral around the social media platform. The form of the leader is vital for the defending champions ahead of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026.

“As I’ve said before, I was batting really well in the nets. Everything I did back home over the last two or three weeks helped. I got a good break to spend time with my family and friends, had good practice sessions, and I’m really enjoying what’s happening right now.” Suryakumar expressed in the post-match presentation ceremony.

India didn’t make a great start with the bat, as both their openers, Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson, fell for eight runs on the board in the second over, before their strong middle order took them over the line.

Brief Scores: India 209/3 (Suryakumar Yadav 82*, Ishan Kishan 76*, Ish Sodhi 1/34) beat New Zealand 208/6 (Mitchell Santner 47*, Kuldeep Yadav 2/35).
