The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has shared a special video from their training session at the JSCA Stadium in Ranchi, giving the fans a glimpse of senior stars, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharna, preparing for the return of ODI cricket. The three-match series is going to begin on November 30 as the experienced duo will be back in the 50-over format in India after nine months.

A clip has gone viral on social media platforms where Rishabh Pant showed a light-hearted moment, and Kohli was the centre of attraction for the fans. Pant was keeping during the nets when the pacer delivered a good-length ball to Kohli. Reacting to the shot, the wicket-keeper reacted behind the stumps, ‘Bhai ji, acha ball tha yeh. Tagda maar diya’ lauding both the delivery and Kohli.

Rohit and Kohli featured in an ODI together during the third ODI against Australia down under. In that game, Rohit smashed an unbeaten knock of 121 runs while Kohli supported him with an undefeated knock of 74 runs. Their 168-run stand set the tone for India’s victory.

Ahead of the Ranchi opening fixture, both batters stand at a chance of breaching major milestones with the bat. Rohit, who is currently the top-ranked batter in the ODI format, has smashed 19902 runs across 502 games and is on the verge of crossing the 20000-run mark. This includes 4301 runs in Tests, 4231 runs in T20Is, and 11370 runs in ODIs.

If he gets to the mark, then the Mumbai batter will become only the fourth Indian member to enter the elite 200000-run club after Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, and Rahul Dravid. Kohli is on the verge of making another history as well. He is equated with Tendulkar thanks to 51 centuries, with Tendulkar’s tally coming in Tests.

If Kohli gets to a century in the Ranchi ODI, then he will become the first to reach the 52-century mark. Only these two greats have managed to cross 50 or more hundreds in a single format of the game.
