India's star cricketer Tilak Varma was seen on the sets of 'Peddi', a rural action drama movie starring Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor. The cricketer went to the sets where the movie was being shot and met Ram Charan. The two had a brief interaction in his room before heading towards the centre area, where Tilak was given gifts.

The movie's director, Buchi Babu Sana, posted a video on social media showcasing the entry of Tilak and the conversation with everyone. The cricketer was quite impressed with the shooting, and reports suggest that the directors and film-makers are confident that the movie will do well in theatres. The director took to social media to showcase the cricketer and Ram Charan's interaction and also mentioned the release date in the caption.

Tilak also addressed the crowd in the Telugu language and was seen clapping and appreciating the efforts of the people around. He seemed to have a good time on the sets, and he bid farewell to everyone before leaving.

"T20 World Cup champion @TilakV9 visited the sets of #Peddi ❤‍🔥He caught a glimpse of the film’s sports sequences and was thoroughly impressed.

#PEDDI WORLDWIDE RELEASE ON 30th APRIL, 2026," he wrote on Twitter.

Tilak Varma's T20 World Cup 2026 performance

The 23-year-old batter played some incredible knocks for India in the recently ended T20 World Cup 2026, where he scored 207 runs in nine matches at a strike rate of 154.47. After struggling to convert starts while batting at number 3, he thrived in a finishing role later in the tournament, aiding India's title defence.

Heavily criticised for his strike-rate in the starting matches, Tilak converted them from the match against Zimbabwe and helped India win. He scored solid cameos in the World Cup that contributed to putting up mammoth totals on the board. The Indian team played brilliantly in the tournament and lost just a single match before winning the World Cup for the third time.

Now, he will be playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 for the Mumbai Indians (MI). He has been an integral part of their playing XI and has performed well throughout the years. Hence, he has become a trustworthy player for the franchise and is an important member of the team as well. MI will play their first match against the Kolkata Knight Riders on March 29 in Mumbai.
