Watch: Ubaid Shah unleashes brutal bouncer to trouble Babar Azam in PSL 2026

In T20 cricket, bouncers are quite deadly. Despite that, the bowlers love throwing bouncers to terrify the batters mid-game. A similar incident happened in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 when Ubaid Shah bowled a deadly bouncer to Babar Azam in the match between Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi. 

It happened in the early overs of the match, which became a matter of panic among the teammates since it was brutal. Since Babar is known for his calmness, he didn't react much to the situation and ended up scoring 43 off 40 balls. 

Ubaid Shah bowls bouncer to Babar Azam in PSL 2026

In the 19th match of the PSL 2026. Babar Azam was hit by a brutal bouncer in the 5th over of the first innings. He didn't lose consciousness, but the physio came out to the middle after he was hit by Ubaid Shah. The player tried some mouth exercises to check if the injury was serious. The ball hit his neck region, and he was in visible pain. 

Ubaid saw him backing away and followed him with a short ball, but Babar was late in striking the ball, and that's why it hit him. After that, the teammates gathered around him and checked if he was doing okay before the game started again. He played until 15 overs and was out on 43. He hit three boundaries and one six. His strike rate remained low, but he was looking in good shape, which is a positive takeaway. 

Peshawar Zalmi scored 173 runs in the first innings, thanks to Mushal Mendis' 74 off 48 balls, including five boundaries and four sixes. It was an incredible batting performance by the players as they managed to put up a good total on the board.
