The left-handed opening batter of the India side, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, has been dismissed for 175 runs in the final of the U-19 World Cup final in Harare between India and England as the knock broke several records.

India’s captain, Ayush Mhatre, won the toss and decided to bat first at the Harare Sports Club during the U19 World Cup 2026 final. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was yet to crack a fine knock with the bat in the entire event as he found the right stage to light up the show and celebrated his half-century in just 32 balls.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi continued the same onslaught batting and dashed his century in only 55 balls, which meant that his second portion of the 50 runs came in just 23 balls. Against Farhan Ahmed, the left-handed opening batter clubbed three sixes and one boundary in the four balls to collect 22 runs in the five balls after a dot ball to start the proceedings.

Sooryavanshi notched up the century in just 55 balls, which became the second-fastest in terms of balls in the U-19 World Cup history. He became the eighth Indian batter to register a fifty-plus score in a U-19 World Cup Final.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi dismissed for 175 in U19 ODI WC 2026 final
He and Ayush Mhatre added 142 runs in 90 balls for the second wicket, at a run rate of 9.46. This was the second-fastest partnership for any wicket in a knockout fixture of the U-19 World Cup. That was a marvelous performance from the southpaw, who was dismissed for 177 runs in 80 balls with the help of 15 boundaries and as many sixes at a strike rate of 218.75.

Vaibhav Sooyavanshi was dismissed for the second-most runs in a youth ODI after the unbeaten 177-run knock by Ambati Rayudu. The Bihar batter also became the only batter to cross 100 sixes in the format, with the second best being only 55 sixes in the list.
Apart from him, India also got a strong start from captain Mhatre, who ended up with 53 runs in 51 balls with the help of seven boundaries and a pair of sixes as India crossed the 275-run mark in the blink of an eye.
