Rohit Sharma played a stunning innings of 155 runs as the Mumbai cricket team began their Vijay Hazare Trophy campaign with a comfortable win over Sikkim. Mumbai chased down the target easily and won the game by eight wickets in Jaipur.

The match took place at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, where Sikkim won the toss and elected to bat first. They scored a fighting 236/7 in 50 overs but could not generate sufficient pressure on Mumbai.

Wicket-keeper batter Ashish Thapa was the best performer for Sikkim. He scored a steady 79 runs from 87 balls and held the innings together while wickets kept falling at the other end.

Rohit Sharma Takes Full Control of the Chase

Sikkim also got useful contributions from K Sai Satwik and Kranthi Kumar, who scored 34 runs each, while Robin Limboo remained unbeaten on 31. Mumbai’s bowlers stayed disciplined, with Shardul Thakur leading the attack by taking two wickets. Musheer Khan and Shams Mulani also picked up one wicket each.

Mumbai started their chase very carefully. Angkrish Raghuvanshi has been playing a very responsible knock of 38 runs, allowing his side to start well. At the other end, Rohit Sharma was taking some time to settle before switching gears and taking control of the match.

Once set, Rohit looked unstoppable. He smashed 155 runs from just 94 balls, hitting 18 fours and nine sixes. He completed his century in only 62 balls, the fastest List A hundred of his career. Musheer Khan stayed not out on 27, while Sarfaraz Khan added a quick eight. Mumbai reached the target in 30.3 overs and began their Vijay Hazare Trophy campaign in perfect style.
