Veteran Indian batter Virat Kohli mocked Bangladeshi fans on Sunday during the first ODI between India and New Zealand. He performed a “Naagin dance” after Glenn Phillips was dismissed, creating a funny and memorable moment in the match.
The wicket came when spinner Kuldeep Yadav bowled a slower delivery, and Phillips mistimed a cover drive. Shreyas Iyer, fielding at point, took a simple catch to send Phillips back for 19. The camera then caught Kohli, who celebrated in a way that quickly went viral on social media.

New Zealand Lose Wickets at Regular Intervals
New Zealand openers Devon Conway and Henry Nicholls gave the visitors a steady start before getting out for 56 and 62 runs, respectively. After their dismissals, the Kiwis lost wickets at regular intervals. From 117/1, they slipped to 198/5, which could cause problems later. Apart from Daryl Mitchell, who scored a half-century, none of the middle-order batters made a big impact.
The visitors missed Kane Williamson, who could have guided the team in the middle overs. Mitchell played well but did not have a partner to help him accelerate and put pressure on India. Their strike rate was low, which the team will hope to improve in the next match. For India, Harshit Rana was the standout bowler, taking two wickets. New Zealand will hope to score well in the remaining 10 overs to post a total above 300 in the first ODI.
