The former captain of the Indian ODI side, Virat Kohli, will return home for the upcoming three-match series against South Africa, which will begin on November 30. The opening game is scheduled to begin in November at the Jharkhand State Cricket Association in Ranchi before the action moves to the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Stadium in Raipur on December 02.

The third and final clash of the ODI series will be played on December 06 at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA‑VDCA Stadium, Visakhapatnam. This will be the first cricketing outing for Kohli in India since the end of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, where they became the champions with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) beating the Punjab Kings (PBKS).

The right-handed batter ended up with two ducks in the first two games at the Optus Stadium in Perth and the iconic Adelaide Oval before he recorded a fine unbeaten half-century at the iconic Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), along with Rohit Sharma, who smashed a century as India completed the chase quite comfortably.
