But a video has gone viral where he is heard to be insulting the umpire. It seemed to be during the recent tri-series against Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
In one of the games, Rashid was heard to be telling, ‘Bro, who have you brought? He doesn’t even know anything about umpiring!!” Even though the exact reason for the premier leg spinner is not known, the umpire was signaling a time-out when those words were expressed by the star IPL player.

Afghanistan played the curtain raiser of the Asia Cup 2025 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi against the Hong Kong Chaina. They were up to the mark with the bat inside the powerplay, losing two wickets in the line-up before Mohammed Nabi nailed 33 runs in 21 balls. Their opener, Sediqullah Atal, creamed an unbeaten 73 runs in 52 balls with the help of six boundaries and three sixes.
Along with Atal, the biggest contribution in the line-up came from Azmatullah Omarzai, who blasted a terrific knock of 53 runs in just 21 balls with the help of five sixes and two fours at a strike rate of 252.38 as they posted 188/6 in their allotted 20 overs.
A superb all-round bowling show from the Asian side, led by two two-wicket hauls from Gulbadin Naib and Fazalhaq Farooqi, restricted the Hong Kong side to 94/9 to claim a victory by 94 runs. However, their eight-run defeat against Bangladesh in the seocnd game has put them in a do-or-die situation before the contest against Sri Lanka at the same ground.
