Watch: Yograj Singh blasts R Ashwin over Arjun Tendulkar remarks ahead of IPL 2026
Yograj Singh has strongly criticised R Ashwin for his remarks on Arjun Tendulkar ahead of IPL 2026, sparking a heated debate in the cricketing world.

Sachin Tendulkar's son, Arjun Tendulkar, is all set to play for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in this season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. He was with the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the previous seasons of the tournament but was finally released by them before the auction. He was traded to LSG for ₹30 Lakh.
The Super Giants are one of the newest teams of the tournament, but have performed well in the past. For this season, they have Rishabh Pant as their skipper. Arjun made his debut for MI in the IPL, but he hardly got any chance to play. This might be his season where he gets an opportunity to bowl throughout the tournament.
Yograj Singh’s explosive reaction to Ashwin’s comments goes viral
Yograj Singh, the former cricketer, went viral for calling out Ravichandran Ashwin's comment on Arjun Tendulkar a few days back. The former cricketer mentioned that Arjun has a spine problem, and despite that, he bowls. Arjun didn't have a good season in domestic cricket but will look to rectify it in the IPL.
"He is talking bulls**t, this guy, R Ashwin, whoever he is. He should know what to talk about somebody. Somebody's sitting on the television and talking,' Oh, he can't do this, he can't do that'. Who are you? What are you?" said Yograj Singh.
"He is Sachin Tendulkar's son, that is a different story. When he was here, I told Yuvi, that all of you are concentrating wrong on Arjun Tendulkar. He is not a bowler, he had a spine problem, and his hands come down from 45 degree. When he was here, I was talking to him. I told his coach as well when he was with the Goa team," he added.
What R Ashwin said about Arjun Tendulkar that sparked controversy
A few days ago, R. Ashwin, while talking on his YouTube channel, spoke about how Arjun might not get a chance to play in the upcoming IPL 2026. They have a solid bowling lineup in the form of Mayank Yadav, Mohsin Khan, Avesh Khan, and Mohammad Shami and the left-arm pacer might not get a chance to make his way into the team.
"Arjun Tendulkar khelega hi nahi (Arjun Tendulkar won't play at all), and let's not even go there. I think it is very difficult because there are Mayank Yadav, Mohsin Khan, Avesh Khan, and Mohammad Shami in this lineup. There are so many fast bowlers. How will he play? I don't think he makes any case unless and until there are a lot of injuries," Ashwin said.
