On Sunday, a devoted fan presented Chennai Super Kings’ skipper, MS Dhoni, with two remarkable artworks, capturing widespread attention on social media. The artist, Yash Prajapati, a fervent admirer of Dhoni, portrayed the former India captain in two distinct styles one sporting long hair and the other featuring his iconic short-hair appearance. Known for his humility, Dhoni graciously accepted the artworks, delighting the young artist by posing for a memorable photograph together.

Earlier this week, Dhoni resumed training with CSK after undergoing a lengthy rehabilitation period for a knee injury sustained last year. Despite his 42 years, Dhoni’s return to the nets showcased his enduring skill and presence, generating significant buzz online. Prior to joining the CSK camp, Dhoni was spotted in Jamnagar, attending pre-wedding celebrations for Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant alongside his wife Sakshi and other esteemed figures from Indian cricket.

Meanwhile, local talents Ruturaj Gaikwad and Deepak Chahar have also commenced training with CSK ahead of Dhoni’s arrival. The five-time IPL champions are scheduled to face Royal Challengers Bangalore in the opening match of IPL 2024 on March 22 in Chennai.

However, CSK may face early setbacks as opener Devon Conway is expected to miss the initial stages of the tournament due to a thumb injury requiring eight weeks of recovery. Conway sustained the injury during a T20I series against Australia.

Adding to CSK’s concerns, Matheesha Pathirana suffered a Grade 1 hamstring strain in his left leg during a recent T20I against Bangladesh. Typically, such injuries necessitate around two weeks for recovery, leaving uncertainty around Pathirana’s availability for the CSK camp.
