The action in Women’s Big Bash League  (WBBL) 2025 continues with Match 16, in which Hobart Hurricanes Women will go up against Melbourne Renegades Women on Thursday, November 20, at North Sydney Oval, Sydney. Both of the teams are in tremendous form and are seated around the top in the points table, making the contest highly awaited.

The Elyse Villani-led Hobart Hurricanes Women are having a great season. They have won all four of their matches until now and are standing tall at the top of the table. With both their batters and bowlers in great form, Hurricanes would look to prolong the winning run and strengthen their position even more.

The defending champions, the Melbourne Renegades Women, are in fine form too. The Renegades have won three of four matches to occupy second with six points. Under the leadership of Sophie Molineux, the Renegades have been fairly consistent and confident throughout the competition. They will be looking to extend the good form against the Hurricanes so that they challenge the top position.

MR-W vs HH-W: Pitch Report

The pitch at the North Sydney Oval is known to be very good for batting. High-scoring matches are common here because the surface offers true bounce and allows batters to play their shots freely. The average first-innings score is around 151, which suggests teams can post strong totals. Because chasing teams often benefit from knowing the target, captains may choose to bowl first after winning the toss. Batters should spend some time at the crease before shifting to big-hitting mode.
