During his active cricket-playing days, AB de Villiers did some stunning jobs that only he could accomplish. At the age of 41, nothing has changed. The same agility, the same accuracy—AB remains 360°, as his fans say.
He chose the ongoing World Championship of Legends 2025 as the stage to show his post-retirement cricket skill. WCL 2025 already witnessed the aggressive batting of the former South Africa international. Now, during the semi-final of the league, de Villiers steals the show by taking an out-of-this-world catch. He started running from the mid-on, grabbed the ball, and threw his body near the long-on region. Without raw quickness and reflexes, this type of grab cannot be accomplished.
The semifinal match of WCL 2025 was between the Australian champions and the South African champions at Edgbaston. Australia was nicely positioned while chasing 186, posted by South Africa Champions. Chris

South Africa into the final
Lynn was batting well, smashing runs all over the park. He hoisted an outside off-stump delivery to go big. The connection was not on point. The ball went high in the sky and AB de Villiers found himself right under the line of the ball. Villiers was positioned in mid-on. From there, he just spotted the ball and assumed where it could land. He turned and started to run quickly to chase the ball. By that time, losing momentum, the ball started to approach the soil.

Villiers predicted the path of the ball accurately and reached the spot on time and did not make any mistake to grab it. Lynn was dismissed for 35 off 20. Eventually, South Africa, by a thin margin, won the match over the Australian champions. South Africa will face Pakistan Champions in the final.
