Pakistan’sT20I captain, Salman Ali Agha, is currently leading their side in the home three-match T20I series against Australia, which has been a great preparation for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka. Ahead of their third clash of the series, his focus remains on the India vs Pakistan U19 World Cup 2026.

It has been a do-or-die contest for the latter as they would need to claim a victory by a massive margin against the blue brigade to stay alive in the event and get the promotion to the semifinal of the competition. Agha, who will lead the senior T20I side of the national team against India on February 15 at the R Premadasa Cricket Stadium in Colombo, has backed the U19 players.

“Go well, kids, we're all behind you.”- Agha posts on his Instagram story with the picture of both teams being lined up for the national anthem. It was a massive game for the side, which would qualify for the semifinal of the event only if they aggressively completed the chase.

In the U19 contest, Pakistan’s captain, Farhan Yousuf, won the toss and decided to bowl first on a surface that was expected to get tough with the old ball in the middle overs when the spinners would operate. India made a strong yet decent start with the bat as Vaibhav Suryavanshi smashed 30 runs in 22 balls.

But Mohammad Sayyam changed the route of the game as India lost three wickets for no runs in just four deliveries. Their number four batter, Vedant Trivedi, smashed a fine knock of 68 runs in 98 balls at a strike rate of nearly 70, with the help of two boundaries and one six. RS Ambrish also contributed 29 runs in a vital stand.

For Pakistan, the spinners were excellent with the ball as Momin Qamar picked up 1/33 in eight overs while Ahmed Hussain collected a fine spell of 1/33 in seven overs.

Brief Scores: India U19 213/7 (Vedant Trivedi 68, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi 30, Mohammad Sayyam 2/40) vs Pakistan U19.
