According to Corbin Bosch, South Africa is slightly favored over India as both teams meet for their Super 8 match during the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026. South Africa already has three matches played at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, where Sunday’s meeting of the last two World Cup finalists takes place; while India has only recently played against the Netherlands at this venue, they have experienced much less time there than South Africa has, which is an advantage.

Regardless of that advantage, Bosch described India’s batting order as one of the best in the world - dangerous from 1 to 11 - and virtually impossible to contain. Instead of picking just one of India’s batters to be the main focus for this match, Bosch has stated that the Proteas’ strategy will be to collectively destroy each of India’s batters. He expressed pride in being a part of a squad that includes some of the best fast bowlers in the world and that having so much fast bowling talent provides versatility and strength to take wickets consistently. He also said that with his team having a combination of firepower, experience, and familiarity at the ground, the South Africans have a lot of confidence going into this important match.

"We are fortunate enough to have played a few games in Ahmedabad, which has been really nice as now we have two more coming up. We've had the luxury of assessing the conditions and set game plans moving forward. The planning will now go towards individuals rather than a team perspective and as a team that is how we want to operate. I think their whole batting line-up is quite destructive. So it will be for all of them. All of their batters. I'm not going to single out anyone. It's a privilege to be with a team with such incredible fast bowlers. There's still Anrich Nortje in the side. It's a luxury, but it comes with its responsibilities. The standards between the entire bowling line-up is really, really high," Bosch was quoted as saying by India Today.

I think it is a privilege: Corbin Bosch

The 31-year-old seam-bowling all-rounder from Durban emphasized that the squad values team achievements over personal accolades. Bosch has built a reputation for operating in the closing overs, a phase when batters typically attack aggressively. The right-arm pacer acknowledged that bowling at the death can be demanding, but he also noted that it becomes highly satisfying when bowlers manage to stick to their plans and execute under pressure.

"It's something we feed well off each other. I think this is the first time we've all played as a collective, so it's still getting to know how we operate as a unit. But we've done fantastically so far, and there's no extra pressure. It's exciting because, as I said, you have the luxury to watch some of the best fast bowlers in the world. It's definitely not fun. But I think it is a privilege. Pressure is a privilege. It's one of the skill sets that, if you can master it, it goes a really, really long way. I'm just privileged to be a part of this set-up and anything I can possibly do for the team, I'll gladly put my hand up and do. It's also something that I've done for a long time," star Proteas all rounder said.
