Target 608 needs 536 to win in 90 overs and has 7 wickets in hand—in this scenario, should England go all out with the hope to get another heroic win? The question that has been floating around after the end of Day 4 of the ongoing England vs. India 2nd Test.
Under the coaching of Brandon McCullum and captain Ben Stokes, England became a maestro of run chasing. England has won 12 out of the 18 matches while chasing in the fourth innings after McCullum and Stokes created a formidable bond. Team England's batting coach Marcus Trescothick delivered a philosophical-sounding reply when he was asked about the possible tactics of the team on Day 5. Without revealing their exact tactics, Trescothick did not rule out the possibility of playing for a draw.
"I think that whenever the situation is challenging, of course it is. I think if you get to the point where you can draw the game, of course. We're not stupid enough to understand that; you have to just win or lose. There are 3 results possible in every game that you play. But we have done some things in our time that are different from what we've done before, so we'll see what happens," the batting coach of England said at the press conference after the conclusion of the previous day's play.

He also mentioned that their players in the dressing room did not talk about draws. The team can change their plan according to the situation of the game.
Marcus talked about the mentality of the boys in dressing room
"I don't think we use that sort of language. It's not the sort of change room that we are, but we're not naive enough to not know that it's a very challenging total that you sort of play. Do you just go in your bunker and just sort of dig it out? You know, some players may do that. You just don't really know it's individuals that can sort of adapt to the game and understand what's happening, but you know you've got to understand our changing room. It is a different type of culture in terms of what we've done in the past," he added.
England will start Day 5 with Ollie Pope (24*) and Harry Brook (15*) at the crease. England will have to score 536 if they want to win this contest.
