'We should leave...'- Sanju Samson's personal trainer reveals personal conversation ahead of IPL 2026

Rajamani Prabhu, personal trainer of Sanju Samson, made some massive claims ahead of IPL 2026 when the social media platforms are buzzing with the possible move of the star keeper-batter. It is believed that Sanju Samson can finally move on from Rajasthan Royals (RR) to join another IPL team.

If the rumors are to be believed, then he can join Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for the IPL 2026 season. As of now there are no official confirmations either from the player's end or from Rajasthan Royals' end. Maintaining the guidelines, every IPL club will have to announce their lists of retention and release players' names. Ahead of Sanju's possible move from RR to CSK, his personal trainer made some strong claims.

Prabhu tried to reflect on how Sanju used to think to lead Rajasthan Royals to glory as a captain. The trainer even compared the cricketer with former India captain MS Dhoni. Sharing one of his personal conversations with Samson, Rajamani said that there was a plan to leave RR after a disappointing run in IPL 2021. Though Sanju did not want to leave. After making some reinforcement, surprisingly, in the following season, RR reached the final of the tournament.

Sanju Samson's personal trainer recalled about IPL 2021 season

"RR had a poor IPL season in 2021; it was Sanju's first season as a captain. We used to be upset with how the team was playing, and one night, I told him, 'We should leave and join another big team; we'll do better there.' But he said, 'I want to make this team bigger; it's my team, and I need your support.' I agreed to that. He had a vision, and we started planning for the next season. We brought in big players like Chahal, Ashwin, and Prasidh Krishna. We even reached the IPL final the next year! "That's the kind of leader he is—he's like a 2nd MS Dhoni to me," Rajamani Prabhu, Sanju Samson's personal trainer, said. 

In the IPL 2021 season, RR finished their season at the 7th spot of the points table. And in the IPL 2022 season, they reached the final to face the Gujarat Titans. Despite a promising run, Rajasthan Royals concluded the campaign as the second-best team of the season after GT.
