“What worries me…”- MS Dhoni reacts to India’s chances in T20 World Cup 2026
The former World Cup-winning captain of the Indian side, MS Dhoni, has reacted to the chances of the current Indian T20I side heading into the 2026 season of the T20 World Cup, schduled to begin on February 07.

The former T20 World Cup-winning captain of the Indian side, MS Dhoni, has labelled the Suryakumar Yadav-led blue brigade T20I side as one of the most dangerous teams to feature in the event, which is scheduled to begin on February 07. Dhoni, who captained the side in 2007, believes that the current side is ready to defend the title that they won in 2024.
India will begin its campaign against the United States of America (USA) on February 7 at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. During the event called ‘Mahi unplugged’, the former wicket-keeper batter pointed out that India has everything to be a strong T20I side at the moment.

“It's one of the most dangerous teams. You know, they would have already started batting or bowling by now. But what is needed in a good team? Everything is there. They have the experience. Especially when it comes to this format, the experience is vast. They have played under pressure. Whoever is playing whatever roles they are playing in the team, they have been in that situation for a considerable period of time.” Dhoni expressed in that event.
MS Dhoni scared of dew for India's T20 World Cup 2026 campaign
Dhoni admitted that one factor that would always be fearful for the captains, which would be dew, as it can completely change the course of the match. He also spoke about how unpredictable the format can be. Even one of the strongest sides can struggle if a few players have an off day or if someone from the opposition plays a special knock.

“What worries me? I really hate dew. Dew changes everything. Even when I was playing, it was something that scared me. The toss becomes very important because of it. If you play 10 matches against top teams in fair conditions, you’ll win most of them.” Dhoni revealed in the show.
“The real problem comes when a few of your players don’t perform, and someone from the other team has an outstanding day. That can happen at any stage in a T20 tournament — whether it’s the league matches or the knockouts. That’s when you start hoping everything goes right.” The Ranchi-born concluded.
