The 2025/26 season of the Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT) holds a different charm and energy for the fans as several international players will feature in the domestic 50-over event due to the policy of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The former Indian captain and the star batter, Virat Kohli, will feature for the Delhi side.

Virat Kohli will feature in two Vijay Hazare Trophy clashes, which are scheduled to take place on December 24. The entire tournament will be played overall from December 24 to January 18, with a total of 32 teams, which are divided into four groups of domestic one-day events. The right-handed batter was in serious form with the bat in the recent few games.

Kohli will play his very first game on December 24 against Andhra, which will be followed by the second game on December 26 against Gujarat. Both games will begin at 9 in the morning as he will feature in those games under the leadership of Rishabh Pant, in the presence of his long-time friend, Ishant Sharma.

Virat Kohli to play two games for Delhi in VHT 2025/26

Kohli has a strong record in the history of the Vijay Hazare Trophy as he notched up 819 runs in 13 innings at an average of 68.25 and a strike rate of more than 106 with the help of four centuries and three half-centuries at the best score of 124.

The four centuries for Kohli in the VHT came against Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, and Railways. His three half-centuries came in the games against Bengal, Punjab, and Haryana. He has been in tremendous touch recently with two centuries in Ranchi and Raipur against South Africa and two unbeaten half-centuries in Sydney and Vizag.

Kohli was expected to play both games at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. But there is a new speculation on that aspect as the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) faces a massive issue with the security aspect. Kohli’s best season of the VHT came in 2009, when he clubbed 554 runs in seven games with the help of four centuries.
