India is scheduled to play their 4th Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar trophy against England at Old Trafford, Manchester, from July 23. England won the 3rd game at the Lord's, leading the series by 2-1.

When Team India was there in August 2014, things went wrong for them. Stuart Broad single-handedly bagged 6 wickets in the first innings and won the man of the match award. In both innings of that match, the Indian batting lineup failed miserably.

Then the captain of the team, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, played a captain's knock but only to delay the victory of the home team. In the first innings of the match, India lost 4 wickets for only 8 runs on the scoreboard. From that point, MS Dhoni took the matter on his shoulder and drove his team over 150. He scored 71 runs against 133 deliveries, hitting 15 boundaries. Under pressure, when at a point even 100 was looking beyond the boys in Blue Brigade's grip, 'Captain Cool' proved his patience and resilience.

India lost the match by an innings

Dhoni's innings was well supported by Ravichandran Ashwin's 42-ball, 40-run knock. In the first innings, with the contributions mostly from Dhoni and Ashwin, India posted 152 runs in the first innings. In the process, Broad picked up 6, and James Anderson claimed 3 scalps. England, in their first innings, replied with 367. Then,

India's pace bowling line-up with Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Varun Aaron, and Pankaj Singh were barely able to manage the opposition bowling unit's strike rate at the same pitch. England took a lead of 215 runs. The lead was not superior, but India's batting line again staggered and bundled for 161. England won the match by an inning and 54 runs. During the second phase of the contest, Moeen Ali ran over India's batting order, claiming 4 wickets.
