The Rajasthan Royals (RR) are up against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on March 30. The 3rd match of the tournament is held in Guwahati. It was the home captain, Riyan Parag, who won the toss and chose to bowl first. With the overcast conditions, it was the best decision.
CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad wanted to do the same as well. This will be an interesting match, as both teams look strong. RR have brought in Brijest Sharma into the playing XI. He is a newcomer and will have a lot of expectations placed on him.

Jammu and Kashmir cricketer Brijesh Sharma was selected at his base price of Rs 30 lakhs in the IPL 2026 auction back in December. He moved to Bengal for better opportunities and featured in the Bengal Pro T20 League. He has yet to play any domestic games. The right-arm medium bowler is an incredible player as well.
"I am currently representing the Bengal Cricket Association. I am from Madha and currently staying in Udhampur. My journey has had its ups and downs. I have played for the Jammu state team, was dropped, and learnt a great deal under Deepak Punia's guidance at Unique Sports Club in Delhi over the last two years. The facilities are great there, and they made me aware of the discipline and things I needed to bring to play cricket at a higher level," said Brijesh Sharma.
What Brijesh Sharma brings to RR in IPL 2026
The 27-year-old Brijesh Sharma brings fresh bowling depth to the RR squad this season. Even though he has not played in any domestic game yet, he has impressed in domestic T20 leagues with his wicket-taking ability and consistency. He will get to learn a lot from the experienced bowlers in the squad.
He drew attention towards him during the Bengal Pro T20 League and was the joint-fifth wicket-taker with 11 scalps in seven games. His experience will help RR a lot this season as they needed a bowler like him.
