The 31-year-old left-arm spinner, Jayden Lennox, who made his international debut during the second ODI of the three-match series against India at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot, replaced leg spinner, Adhitya Ashok, in their playing 11 for the must-win encounter after facing a four-wicket defeat in the opening clash in Vadodara.

It has been an interesting life for the left-arm spinner, who played 54 List A matches and has dismissed 69 batters, besides his 224 runs in 28 innings. Lennox also worked as a field technician for Aquatic Research Limited for a couple of years, as an assembly technician at Hustler Equipment from 2020 to 2023, and was a part-time laboratory technician at ARL from April to September two years ago. In his professional cricket playing career, he has been part of the Central District Cricket Association for the last seven years.

In 21 first-class cricket games, the left-arm spinner has picked up 48 wickets at an average of 37.12, thanks to his one five-wicket haul, which ended up being the best figures of 5/66 in an innings. In the case of the T20 career, he has earned 60 wickets at an average of under 19 and an economy rate of 7.42.

During the Rajkot ODI, with the ground being known to be better for the batters, the left-arm spinner used the pace variations brilliantly, giving away runs at an economy rate of under four in seven overs. That put massive pressure on the batters to release their pressure from the other end, which ended up resulting in wickets.
