Who is Praful Hinge? SRH bowler making headlines in IPL 2026
Praful Hinge is emerging as a key bowler for SRH in IPL 2026. Here’s everything you need to know about his journey and cricket career.

The Punjab Kings (PBKS) are taking on the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 17th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 in New Chandigarh. The home team players are in form and have won two out of three games in the tournament so far. Their last match was washed out due to rain, and they got just one point in Kolkata.
Meanwhile, the tournament has not gone the way SRH would have imagined it to be. In the absence of Pat Cummins, Ishan Kishan has taken up the captaincy, but the team has won just a single game out of three. Hence, this match becomes extremely important for them. They are currently in sixth position on the points table. Ahead of the match, Kishan confirmed that Praful Hinge, the pacer, is all set to make his debut in the IPL 2026.
Who is Praful Hinge?
Praful Hinge, the pace bowler of SRH, will make his debut in today's match. However, his name is listed within the impact sub-list. The 24-year-old bowler was brought by SRH in the IPL auction at the base price of INR 30 lakhs. He is from Vidharbha and plays domestic matches from there.
The young pacer has been training with the MRF Pace Foundation in Chennai since 2022 and went to Brisbane as well for a 15-day camp in 2024. Across 10 First-Class games, Hinge has taken 27 wickets with an average of 26.66. In List A cricket, he has five wickets from six appearances, while his T20 experience is limited to one match, where he picked up a wicket.
"Yeah, there are two changes. Salil comes in in place of Livingstone and Praful Hinge, it's his debut game, in place of Jaydev Unadkat," said Ishan Kishan during the toss. This means that Praful will get to play his first match today, despite being in the impact sub option.
