Punjab Kings, led by Shreyas Iyer batting first, scored 219 in exchange for 6 wickets in 20 overs, thanks to the ton stitched by Arya. In this ongoing Indian Premier League, so far many young, underrated talents have emerged with match-winning performances; now Arya has also entered into the list. Arya decorated his innings with seven 4s and nine 6s, which marked his all-rounder hitting ability.

Later, after the first innings, the Indian opener thanked his captain for this memorable knock. The left-handed batter expressed that it was Iyar who asked him to back his instincts and play his natural game. The batter claimed he was not so expressive, feeling good after the innings he delivered. "The ball is coming onto the bat nicely, and there is not much turn. I hope that the bowlers can strike in the Powerplay," Arya said.

Arya had played some well-built knocks which proved the batters talent

Arya had some well-established knocks for Delhi in domestic cricket. He has an unbeaten 54 in his bag, scored against Arunachal Pradesh before IPL 2025. In the following T20 match, he backed his team, Delhi, with a 44 vs. Uttar Pradesh. The opener began his IPL journey for Punjab Kings with 47 against a well-equipped 47 in Ahmedabad.
