Former Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan got married to his Irish girlfriend Sophie Shine in a private Indian-style wedding in Delhi-NCR. The couple announced their engagement on January 2 last month. The wedding celebrations started a few days ago when they shared pictures from their Sangeet and Mehendi ceremonies.
After months of rumours — from their first public appearance during the Champions Trophy 2025 in Dubai to their engagement post on Instagram in January — the couple finally made their relationship official.
The first photos from their wedding were not shared by the couple but by Dhawan’s teammate and close friend Yuzvendra Chahal. He posted some lovely moments from the ceremony and wrote, “Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai.”
Dhawan and Sophie choose traditional look for wedding
For the wedding ceremony, the couple wore traditional Indian outfits designed by Manish Malhotra. Sophie Shine looked beautiful in an ivory lehenga with a stylish blouse. She often shows her love for Indian fashion, and her wedding look impressed many fans.
Earlier, Dhawan shared two happy pictures from the celebration and gave fans a glimpse of the pre-wedding events. Along with the photos, he wrote, “Sangeet night almost the Dhawans,” which showed his excitement before the big day.
Who is Sophie Shine?
Sophie is a finance professional from Ireland. She works as a Second Vice President – Product Consultant at Northern Trust Corporation, one of the world’s leading financial services companies.
As per her LinkedIn profile, she started her career as a Client Service Representative in Ireland. Later, she became a Product Consultant and then moved to a senior position in the company.
Before joining Northern Trust, Sophie worked in Ireland’s financial sector. She worked at Chardavin District Credit Union and Debenhams.
She studied Marketing and Management at the Limerick Institute of Technology from 2012 to 2016. She completed her schooling at Castletroy College in Limerick.
In the latest wedding photos, Rohit Sharma was seen with Dhawan and other cricket friends. The pictures showed the strong friendship between former teammates.

Earlier, Dhawan was married to Aesha Mukerji, a kickboxer based in Melbourne. The couple has a son named Zoravar. Their marriage ended in divorce in 2023. In the past, Dhawan has also spoken openly about his personal struggles, including the difficulty of staying in touch with his son after the separation.
