However, it was a complete anti-climax as Rohit was out for a golden duck. Kohli, on the other hand, played brilliantly, scoring 77 runs off 61 balls with 13 fours and a six. Just when it seemed he might notch up his 59th List A century, Gujarat left-arm spinner Vishal Jayswal dismissed him, stumped by Urvil Patel.
The 27-year-old prodigy is a slow left-arm orthodox spinner who has played 11 first-class, 12 List A, and 16 T20 matches since debuting for Gujarat in 2022. He was playing his 13th List A game and had taken only five wickets before this match. In the Delhi clash, Jayswal impressed by picking up three key wickets, including Kohli, and conceding only 25 runs in eight overs. He also dismissed Arpit Rana and Nitish Rana during his spell.
