An unstoppable century from Vishvaraj Jadeja secured Punjab's spot in the final of the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 (VHT 2025-26). Jadeja played an unbeaten 165-run innings off 127 deliveries in the semifinal against Punjab and was named as the best player of the match.

On January 16, Punjab and Saurashtra was toe to toe to win the semi-final at the BCCI Center of Excellence in Bengaluru. Punjab went to bat first to register 291 runs in their 50-over limit. Anmolpreet Singh's 100 off 105 and captain Prabhsimran Singh's 87 off 89 were the key points of the first innings. These two blistering knocks from the top-order batters took Punjab to a solid position. They could add some more runs on the scoreboard, but a calm middle order separated them from touching a 300-run mark. For Saurashtra, Chetan Sakariya claimed 4 scalps in 10 overs for an economy rate of 6.00.

With the burning form of Vishvaraj Jadeja, Saurashtra quickly got off to their mark. Harvik Desai, skipper of Saurashtra, accompanied his opening partner well. For the opening stand, Desai and Jadeja added 172 runs in 22.6 overs. Punjab bowlers managed to get only one wicket, which was the dismissal of Desai.

Who is Vishvaraj Jadeja?

After that wicket of Desai, Jadeja captured the stage entirely to showcase his brilliant batting. Saurashtra raced to the finish line with 63 balls to spare and 9 wickets in hand. For the rest of the innings, Jadeja got the required support from Prerak Mankad, who remained not out for 52 runs. In the final, Saurashtra will face Vidharbha on January 18.

Vishvaraj Jadeja is one of the most underrated performers for Saurashtra in the recent domestic tournaments. The 27-year-old opener scored a century (112) against Gujarat as well after securing a half-century against the Services cricket team. Another ton from Jadeja's blade came when Saurashtra was up against Delhi on December 29. The Ahmedabad-born has been scoring runs for Saurashtra constantly in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
