The selection committee of Team India, headed by Ajit Agarkar, on Saturday, announced full squads for the white ball series against Australia, starting from October 19. The series will feature 3 One Day International matches and 5 Twenty20 Internationals. For these eight matches, BCCI announced the squads without star players like Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant. Both of the cricketers are ruled out of the series for injury reasons.

Rishabh Pant last played for India during the 4th match of the Anderson-Tendulkar trophy at Old Trafford, Manchester. The southpaw fractured his foot while trying to play a reverse scoop shot against the pacer Chris Woakes. The full-length delivery from the pacer directly hit Pant's foot. Since then, the keeper-batter has been recovering from injury. He recently spent some time playing golf, but BCCI may not want to take any risk.

For that injury, the flamboyant cricketer missed the fifth England Test, the Delhi Premier League 2025, the Asia Cup, and the ongoing India vs. West Indies Tests, and will miss the India vs. Australia series also. It is now clear when he will make a return in competitive matches. As of now, it is expected that Rishabh can make a comeback during South Africa’s tour of India.
