A win against Bangladesh in Dhaka came as a ray of hope for the Pakistan cricket team. After concluding their 3-match T20I series against Bangladesh, where the host won 2-1, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has shifted their focus on their upcoming series against the West Indies (WI vs PAK).
Against the West Indies, Pakistan will participate in T20Is and ODIs. As it was predicted before, Salman Ali Agha will maintain his position as the skipper of the T20I side, while Mohammad Rizwan will lead the team in One Day International matches against the West Indies. The major highlight of the squad announcement is Shaheen Afridi.
The experienced fast bowler has regained his position in the T20I setup. But Babar Azam was again sidelined from the format. Babar and Naseem Shah have only made it into the ODI team. On the other hand, Haris Rauf and Hasan Ali have also been included in the T20I squad with Afridi to bolster the pace bowling attack. The upcoming white ball series against the West Indies will host three T20Is and ODIs. The T20Is will be played in Florida, while the focus will be shifted to Trinidad for the ODIs. The series will start on August 1, with the first T20I of the competition.
