Women's World Cup 2025 Schedule Out, But One Big Twist Could Move Final Out of India

The schedule for the Women's World Cup has been announced. The tournament will start on September 30, and the final match will be played on November 2. After ten years, the Women's World Cup will be held again in the Indian subcontinent.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the schedule for the Women's Cricket World Cup. The tournament will start on September 30, and the final will be played on November 2. India and Sri Lanka will host the tournament together. The first match will take place at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The final of the Women's World Cup is also set to be held at Chinnaswamy Stadium. However, if Pakistan reaches the final, the match will be played in Colombo instead.

In this way, the Women's World Cup is coming back to India after 12 years. The last time India hosted a Women's T20 World Cup was in 2016. A total of 8 teams will take part in this tournament. These include hosts India, along with Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.

Australia will play as the defending champion. They won the Women's World Cup 2022 by beating England in the final held in New Zealand. Australia is also the most successful team in the tournament's history, winning the title seven times.

The matches of the Women's World Cup 2025 will be held at five venues. These are the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, ACA Stadium in Guwahati, Holkar Stadium in Indore, ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam, and R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The tournament will last for one month and will include 8 teams. The knockout round will be held on October 29 in either Guwahati or Colombo. The second semi-final will be played in Bengaluru on October 30.

Pakistan will play its matches in Colombo

In India, the matches will be held at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, ACA Stadium in Guwahati, Holkar Stadium in Indore, and ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam. However, the Pakistan team will not travel to India. Pakistan will play all its matches in Colombo. India will play its first match in Bengaluru on September 30. The tournament will follow a round-robin format with 28 league matches, followed by 2 semi-finals and a final.

If Pakistan reaches the semi-finals or the final, those matches will be held in Colombo. That’s why the first semi-final will be in either Guwahati or Colombo on October 29. The second semi-final will be in Bengaluru on October 30. The final will take place on November 2, either in Bengaluru or Colombo, depending on Pakistan’s progress.
