The Barbados Royals are yet to find their momentum in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL 2025). After playing 5 matches, they remained without a single win. Before their fifth match against the Amazon Warriors, they honored Mark Henry, a WWE superstar, who earned the nickname 'World's Strongest Man.' The Barbados Royals shared an official video of moments of Mark with the team. This came as a surprise for cricket and wrestling fans across the world. The video shared by Barbados Royals with Henry's WWE entrance theme song, "Somebody's gonna get it..." adds a layer of nostalgia.
Though the aura created by Mark did not sustain for long, as the Royals again suffered a defeat, and their search for their first win of the campaign continues. Amazon Warriors won today's match by 4 wickets, chasing a target of 166 runs in the second innings. Dwaine Pretorius received the man of the match award for his all-round performance. After taking a wicket in the first innings, he played a match-winning 53-run knock in the second innings of the game.
Batting first, Barbados Royals registered 165 for 6 in the first innings. Their collective total mostly depended on three batters—skipper Rovman Powell, Rassie van der Dussen, and Brandon King. Powell scored an unbeaten 50-run knock off 28 deliveries with 6 over-boundaries and, interestingly, no boundary. Gudakesh Motie proved to be the most effective bowler for Amazon Warriors. In his 4-over spell, the spinner claimed a brace with an economy rate of 4.00.

Shai Hope played for winning cause
The match turned into a neck-to-neck contest in the second innings when Eathan Bosch clinched a couple of wickets early, three wickets total in the match. Ramon Simmonds also played a crucial role for the Royals by taking a couple of wickets.
But Shai Hope remained strong on the wicket to ensure a win for the Amazon Warriors. Hope scored an unbeaten 62 off 49, accompanied by Dwaine Pretorius' 53 and Quentin Sampson's unbeaten 33-run innings.
