Yashasvi Jaiswal to sponsor "Best batsman award" for Harris and Giles Shield tournaments
India’s young star Yashasvi Jaiswal has decided to sponsor the “Best Batsman Award” for the Harris Shield and Giles Shield tournaments, showing his appreciation for Mumbai’s school cricket system that shaped his career.

India’s young batting sensation Yashasvi Jaiswal has confirmed his participation in Mumbai’s upcoming Ranji Trophy clash against Rajasthan. The left-hander informed the Mumbai Cricket Association of his availability, aligning with the BCCI’s directive that centrally contracted players must play domestic matches when not on international duty.
Jaiswal is set to join his Mumbai teammates in Jaipur ahead of the fixture starting on November 1, with the squad expected to arrive in the city by October 30. His presence will strengthen Mumbai’s top order as they look to continue their strong domestic form this season.
Beyond cricketing commitments, Jaiswal recently won hearts with a touching gesture that drew praise from fans. The young star’s humility and dedication to the game have made him one of the most admired emerging talents in Indian cricket, both on and off the field.

Yashasvi Jaiswal’s Touching Gesture for MSSA:
In a heartwarming move, Yashasvi Jaiswal has reached out to the Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA) to announce his decision to sponsor the Best Player awards for the finals of the Harris and Giles Shield tournaments.
These iconic school cricket competitions have been the breeding ground for several Mumbai cricket stars, including Jaiswal himself. His gesture reflects his gratitude toward the city’s grassroots cricket structure that played a vital role in shaping his journey to the national team.
A MSSA official informed, “ He has informed the MSSA that he would like to support the cause by sponsoring those three awards - as he would like to give it back to Mumbai cricket. We welcome his move.”
Before the season began, Yashasvi Jaiswal had planned to shift from Mumbai to Goa but later requested the MCA to cancel his No Objection Certificate. Owing to his national duties, he hasn’t featured in domestic cricket this season. His most recent outing for Mumbai was in January against Jammu and Kashmir, a match that also saw Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer in action.
