'YES, THE RUMOURS ARE TRUE!' – Jasprit Bumrah drops cryptic post after Asia Cup 2025 triumph
Jasprit Bumrah hinted at joining a mysterious “3rd blue team” after India’s Asia Cup 2025 win, while his fiery send-off to Haris Rauf went viral.

Jasprit Bumrah played a big role in India’s Asia Cup 2025 victory against Pakistan, but after the final, he surprised fans with a mystery announcement. On Instagram, he wrote, “Yes, rumours are true. I am joining my 3rd blue team. Revealing tomorrow.” Bumrah already plays for two blue teams — India and his IPL side Mumbai Indians — and his post has left fans guessing about the third one.
The fast bowler also grabbed attention in the final for his celebration against Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf. Bumrah bowled a toe-crushing yorker to dismiss Rauf and then made the “plane crashing” gesture, a response to Rauf’s similar celebration during the Super-4 clash. That earlier act had earned Rauf a 30 percent fine on his match fees by the ICC. Bumrah’s reply quickly went viral on social media, adding extra spice to the high-stakes game.
Reflecting on the tournament, Bumrah shared his thoughts about playing Pakistan three times. “It has been exciting. Not very often in a multinational tournament you play one opposition three times, so interesting is the word for me,” he said. He added, “Any game, you start from zero. You start with confidence, but you do not go too high or too low. We only focus on our teams, our strengths, our combinations, we do well. If we look at the other team, it does not work well.”
India’s Win in the Final
In the title clash at Dubai, Pakistan made a fast start with the bat but collapsed in the middle overs. Spinners Varun Chakravarthy (2 wickets) and Kuldeep Yadav (4 wickets) were outstanding as Pakistan went from a strong position to being bowled out for 146 in 19.1 overs. Sahibzada Farhan’s 57 off 38 balls was the only significant score for them.

India’s chase was not smooth either, as they lost three wickets inside the powerplay. Tilak Varma, however, held the innings together with a mature knock. He built important partnerships with Sanju Samson and Shivam Dube to steady things. In the end, Rinku Singh smashed a boundary off the third last ball to seal a five-wicket win, handing India their record ninth Asia Cup title.
