The IPL 2026 match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings at Eden Gardens on April 6 was stopped because of heavy rain. Fans were excited for the game, but unfortunately, the weather didn't permit much play. Only a few overs could be bowled before the rain disrupted the game completely.

Meanwhile, Punjab spinner Yuzvendra Chahal was involved in a funny moment with KKR fielding coachDishant Yagnik. In a video that went viral, Chahal was seen chatting with Yagnik before playfully acting like he was smashing shots. Yagnik was seen trying to protect his head, making the moment even more funny.

The interaction quickly became popular on social media. Fans enjoyed this light-hearted moment during the rain delay.  It revealed the lighthearted nature of the players even though the game was not underway.

Match was eventually called off due to persistent rain interruption

The match began after the toss, with Ajinkya Rahane choosing to bat first for KKR. Punjab Kings got an early advantage as their bowlers picked up quick wickets. However, only 3.4 overs were possible before rain stopped play and the covers were brought on immediately.

There was a short moment when it looked like the game might restart, as the covers were removed. But with heavy rain came the return of strong winds, thus turning the conditions for the worse. Water got accumulated on the ground especially near the boundary lines, and the outfield became extremely wet.

Finally, after a long wait and a series of ground inspections, the umpires made the decision to call off the match. Both the teams captains agreed the umpire descion as the field was unsafe to play on. Ultimately, the two sides were given one point each.
