Mohammed Siraj was the key aspect of the Indian team as the pacer bowled almost 186 overs in the whole series, the most by any Indian. Moreover he has got the most wickets for India in away circumstances, which is 104, more than Jasprit Bumrah’s 102.

Even in the recently concluded Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, he was the highest wicket taker for India as he plucked 23 wickets at an average of 32.43 with best figures of 6/70.

First Test

In the first Test, he picked two wickets, that came in the first innings. He dismissed Ben Stokes (20) and Brydon Carse (22) to start off the series. Unfortunately he went wicketless in the second innings as India lost the game.

Second Test

His best figures in the series came in the second Test as he plucked 6/70 in the first innings. He dismissed Zak Crawley (19), Joe Root (22), Stokes (0), Carse (0), Josh Tongue (0) and Shoaib Bashir (0). In the second innings he picked a sole wicket of Crawley (0) as India won the game by 336 runs.

Third Test

In the first innings of the third Test, he dismissed Jamie Smith (51) and Carse (56). He later picked Ben Duckett (12) and Ollie Pope’s (4) wickets in the second innings as India lost the Lord’s Test.

Fourth Test

In the first innings of the fourth Test, he picked a sole wicket of Chris Woakes (4) as he clean bowled him. And he did not get to bowl in the second innings as the match ended up in a draw and England did not bat for the second time.

Fifth Test

This Test became another feather in the cap for Siraj as he picked nine wickets across two innings. In the first innings, Pope (22), Root (29), Harry Brook (53) and Jacob Bethel (6) packing. The second innings spell was equally lethal as he plucked out Crawley (14), Pope (27), Jamie Smith (2), Jamie Overton (9) and Gus Atkinson (17)making his wicket tally 23 in the series.
