Brisbane Heat and Hobart Hurricanes meet at the Gabba on Friday evening in Match 49 of the 2022-23 Big Bash League. Heat have won their last two games but are still next to bottom in the table. The Hurricanes are one point and two places above them. Brisbane Heat have suddenly turned their form around and will come into this ground full of self-belief. A win for Heat could see them move up into the play-off spots. Although the Hurricanes were beaten by Perth Scorchers in their last match, they will travel to Brisbane knowing that a win will go a long way to securing their place in the play-offs.

As ever, there is plenty of pace in this pitch in Brisbane. We expect a par score to be over 180 with quick bowlers getting excellent carry through to the wicket-keeper. It will be humid and cloudy across this match and there is a strong chance of a thunderstorm interrupting play in the first innings.
No Injury. Will be added when there is an update

Both teams have strong batting line-ups on paper, although both have struggled for consistent runs. In the bowling attacks, the Hurricanes have the stronger combination and we think that could be crucial in this game. As the group stage comes to a close, we can expect more of these games which have a big affect on where the teams will finish. Neither team can afford to lose the match and we predict that both teams will look to attack from the first ball. We are expecting a high scoring game but think that Hobart Hurricanes’ bowlers have the edge and will assist their team in getting a win. Considering the team combination, Hobart Hurricanes is expected to win this match.
