The Test summer begins with Pakistan chasing their first win in Australia since 1995. Australia vs Pakistan down under has been as one-sided as it could get. For Australia though, with their team about to enter a phase of transition, this series could help give them some answers with David Warner retiring at the end of the Test Series.

Venue: Perth Stadium
There is a steady bit of breeze flowing through the duration of the Test but rain does not seem like a threat through the five days.
The new Perth stadium has been using drop in pitches and is better for batting. The track does not wear much and should be good through the first three days with some healthy bounce.

Shan Masood
Pakistan has a new Test captain in Shan Masood. At 34, he is pretty experienced and has been to Australia before. The pressure of Captaincy in Australia though is a challenge especially when new to the job.
Steve Smith
Steve Smith says he is not willing to call it a day yet. With his long-standing teammate, David Warner retiring at the end of the series, Steve Smith will have some new things to look at going forward. He still loves batting and is still the first to come to practice indicating his hunger.
Australia come in favorites with the home summer starting against a side which has not won in Australia since 1995,
