India are back in Test Cricket after a considerable gap. They start their Ten Test season with crucial WTC point up for grabs as they are on the cusp of a third consecutive Final. Their last test was six months ago and India will be confident given their record at home. Bangladesh though are proving to be a side that shouldn't be taken lightly. Their last two years in Test Cricket has been good, whitewashing Pakistan in Pakistan just prior to this series. They are yet to beat India in a Test match but will be believing that they can after what they did in Pakistan. India though still remain favorites with their experience and proud home record. Their batting though is an aspect of vulnerability with their game against spin likely to be Tested considering Bangladesh has a really good spin attack.

Chennai usually is pretty dry at this time of the year. Warm and Humid days remain likely and with heat warnings temperatures will be soaring during the daytime.
Chennai will be sporting a red soil pitch for the Test, giving help to pacers early on. There will be some wear though and a lot of dryness with the heat beating down and the ball will spin considerably as the Test goes on. Rishabh Pant has made his white-ball comeback but the red-ball return is what people will be waiting for. Before the accident it was the longer format which has Rishabh Pant garner more attention with an excellent average and some match-winning performances both at home and overseas. He has proved his fitness and will be eager to get into his best format fast.
