India Women Vs England Women: India are going nicely with two wins and have done well with the bat so far. Smrithi Mandhana is going well, and Harmanpreet Kaur has also found form while the lower-order is also doing well as displayed in the Pakistan game. A win against England will do nicely to their confidence and help boost their chances for a semi-final spot.
England on the other hand have loads of talent, but are not performing. Fielding isn’t good enough with a lot of dropped catches, and the batting line-up isn’t doing enough to help England win games.
These two teams faced off in the finals last time and fans witnessed a thrilling encounter which saw India have a massive heartbreak after looking so good in the tournament and comfortable in the final. They suffered a terrible collapse with Shrubsole taking five and cleaning up the Indian’s in the final overs.
Match: India Women Vs England Women
Date: 16th March 2022
Time: 6:30 AM IST
Venue: Bay Oval, Mount Maungunai
The weather for the India Women Vs England Women is clear with mild cloud cover.
The surface is flat and batting friendly but may help spinners as the game progresses. Batting first is a better option.
Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma, Deepti Sharma, Harmanpreet Kaur, Mithali Raj(c), Richa Ghosh(w), Sneh Rana, Jhulan Goswami, Meghna Singh, Pooja Vastrakar, Rajeshwari Gayakwad
Lauren Winfield Hill, Tammy Beaumont, Heather Knight (c), Natalie Sciver, Amy Ellen Jones (wk), Danielle Wyatt, Sophia Dunkley, Katherine Brunt, Sophie Ecclestone, Kate Cross, Anya Shrubsole
Both teams are fully fit and are likely to remain unchanged.
Natalie Sciver
Natalie Sciver is a handy all-rounder and can penetrate an opponent with both bat and ball. In a tough situation, she will be important as she can provide the required moments that helps a team step out of trouble and get back on track.
Mithali Raj
Playing her final World Cup, Mithali Raj has been struggling. In three games so far she is finding it tough to rotate strike, playing a lot of dot balls and seems to be outdated in her approach. She still has a couple of games to go and Mithali Raj would do well to adapt the needs of the game and score big.
Anya Shrubsole
Anya Shrubsole is definitely not going to forget the Indian team easily. She took five in the 2017 Finals to send India collapsing when they looked set for an easy win. She may be struggling this tournament, but the site of the Indian team may wake her up and help bring out some fire in her bowling.
India Women are going strong while England Women have struggled despite strong players. Going by current form and intent, India are likely to win unless England’s talented group of players step up and make a statement.
Match Prediction: India will win the match.
