West Indies showed some spark in the ODI series until Henrich Klaasan ripped them apart in the third ODI. The T20 format too has been a concern for them, with West Indies failing to qualify for the main draft of the World Cup last year as well. South Africa too have not done too well in T20s with consistency being a concern. They have a new captain now in Aiden Markram as South Africa ring in the changes.
Date: March 25th, 2023
Time: 5:30 PM IST
Venue: Centurion
The weather remains a concern with rain still on the forecast.
A flat track full of runs is expected.
Played- 16 | South Africa – 10 | West Indies- 6 | No Result- 2 | Tie- 1
Quinton De Kock, Rilee Roussow, Aiden Markram, Henrich Klaasan, Tristan Stubbs, David Miller, Marco Jansen, Anrich Nortje, Tabraiz Shamsi, Kagiso Rabada, Wayne Parnell
Brandon King, Kyle Mayers, Nicholas Pooran, Shamarh Brooks, Rovman Powell, Jason Holder, Odean Smith, Akeal Hossein, Alzarri Joseph, Romario Shepherd, Raymon Reifer
Pooran’s form has been a concern and now he comes in as a player after stepping down from captaincy. He is a part of a West Indies line-up which is full of firepower as they bat super deep, allowing Pooran to play the way he is known to play, with a lot more freedom around him.
After some fitness struggles Sisanda Magala has made himself heard. He now looks a lot tougher to leave out as he consistently picks up wickets, and looks very promising, which has also allowed him to earn a central contract.
West Indies have the depth but South Africa look a lot more skilled. They have a new captain as well and it will be interesting to see what he has to offer.
