"Itne runs nahi hoga unke...โ โ Rohit Sharma's close friend slams selectors over India star's ODI retirement news
Abhishek Nayar goes off on India's selectors over Rohit Sharma's ODI retirement news: "Itne runs nahi honge unke..." His blunt take on the Hitman's future ahead of the Lord's decider.

Since the start of the second ODI between England and India at the Sophia Gardens in Cardiff, the talk of the town has been Rohit Sharma’s potential retirement news and how the third ODI between these two sides at Lord’s could be their last encounter in the 50-over format. But his close friend has slammed the selectors for the decision.
It hasn’t been a strong series with the bat for the former Indian captain, who has managed only one fifty in the last five innings, including the three-match home 50-over series against Afghanistan at home.
Nayar goes savage: "Jitne in selectors ke total runs nahi honge, utne uske akele mein hai"
The former assistant coach of the Indian cricket team, Abhishek Nayar, has slammed the BCCI selectors once the reports claimed that Rohit could retire from the ODI cricket after the third match against England at Lord’s, having already taken the decision from the Tests and T20Is.
He was part of the show of the ODI series when the presenter read the news to which Nayar was silent for a minute before switching into a full savage mode as he went hard at the selection committee of the Indian board.
“Jitne in selectors ke total milake runs nahi honge, utne uske T20 aur test mei hai, ODI ko to bhool jao. He isn't going anywhere without playing 2027 world cup.” Abhishek expressed in the interaction.
Will Rohit Sharma retire after ENG vs IND 3rd ODI?
It has been noted that the BCCI selection committee had informed Rohit that they have decided to move on from him ahead of the ODI World Cup 2027 in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia. Yashasvi Jaiswal has been the front-runner to replace the veteran batter in this way.

“Selectors have informed Rohit he is not in their scheme of things post the England tour and they are moving on from him after this series. Though he wanted to continue, especially after working on his fitness. The selectors have left the ball in Sharma’s court to decide his future.” The report added.
In the last 14 ODI innings for the blue brigade, the right-handed opener has smacked 650 runs at an average of 45.33 with the help of five 50+ scores, including one unbeaten knock of 121 runs off 125 balls.
