Afghanistan announce full squad for ODI series against India — Here is every player named for the tour

Afghanistan has released their squad for the upcoming ODI series against India after the conclusion of IPL 2026. The three-match ODI series will start on 13 June and will be held at Dharamsala, Lucknow and Chennai. 

Hashmatullah Shahidi will lead Afghanistan in ODIs as they eye challenge to India in home conditions. The series will help both sides to prepare for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2027 by trialing combinations along with younger players. 

The Afghanistan lineup consists of some big names, including of Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Ibrahim Zadran and Azmatullah Omarzai. Additionally, a few youngsters such as Bilal Sami and Nangyal Kharotai have been included for the crucial tour of India.

Afghanistan have selected a balanced ODI squad filled with both experienced players and young talents. Rashid Khan returns for the ODI series after being rested from the Test squad because of workload management.

Senior batter Ibrahim Zadran has also been included in the ODI squad while continuing his recovery from a leg injury. Veteran all-rounder Mohammad Nabi and captain Hashmatullah Shahidi will play an important role in guiding the middle-order batting lineup.

Afghanistan have also continued to back young talents like AM Ghazanfar, who impressed during IPL 2026, and Young fast bowler Bilal Sami, who has impressed in limited opportunities, will also get a chance against a strong Indian batting lineup.

Meanwhile, star spinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman is one of the major absentees from the ODI squad and has not been included in the main 15-player team.
