As per reports, Australian cricket legend Alyssa Healy has announced her retirement from international cricket. While speaking to the Willow Talk podcast on Tuesday, the Australia skipper informed them that the upcoming home series against India will be her last international assignment as an active cricketer. The news of Alyssa Healy's retirement spread across social media platforms like a wildfire. The retirement of Health will mark the end of her illustrious 16-year career.
During the conversation Healy informed us that she had been thinking about retirement for the last few months. She felt that he missed the spark that kept her driven all the way through international cricket for years. So, the captain decided to step down.

"It’s with mixed emotions that the upcoming India series will be my last for Australia. I’m still passionate about playing for Australia, but I’ve somewhat lost that competitive edge that’s kept me driven since the start, so the time feels right to call it a day." Healy, 35, said.
For the last 16 years, the batter took part in every possible tournament, which may have affected her mental health as well. Retirement is always a tough issue to tackle for a player. But at this point, Healy is really excited before her last match in front of the home crowd.
Alyssa Healy reveals why she decided to retire
"Every contest I wanted to be a part of and wanted to compete in, and it’s probably drained me a bit more over the years. The opportunity to finish at home is something I really wanted to do. When it comes to retirement, it’s quite daunting for a lot of people, but standing here right now, I’m really excited," she added.
After making her international debut in 2010, Alyssa Healy has represented Australia in 10 Tests, 123 ODIs, and 162 T20 Internationals. She has played nearly 300 international matches in her career, scoring over 7,000 runs across all formats. During her cricket career, Healy has been part of eight ICC World Cup-winning teams.
