Arshdeep Singh leaves the field injured after retiring out during the India vs West Indies 4th T20I.

India fast bowler Arshdeep Singh suffered an injury scare during the fourth T20I against West Indies at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The incident took place in the final over of India's chase when a rising delivery from Shamar Joseph struck the left-arm pacer on his shoulder and upper arm. Arshdeep was visibly in pain and threw his bat away before crouching down on the field.

Despite receiving treatment, Arshdeep initially tried to continue batting. However, he remained uncomfortable after being hit by the delivery. Seeing his condition, captain Shreyas Iyer asked him to retire hurt. As Arshdeep was the last batter, he could not continue his innings, bringing India's chase to an end. The incident became a major talking point in the closing moments of the match.

West Indies eventually defeated India by 24 runs to level the five-match T20I series at 2-2. India's defeat made the injury scare even more disappointing for the hosts, who had hoped to take the lead in the series. Fans will now be waiting for further updates on Arshdeep's condition.

Arshdeep Singh suffers injury and retires out in IND vs WI 4th T20I

Arshdeep Singh's availability for the fifth T20I against West Indies is uncertain after he suffered an injury during the fourth match in Hyderabad. India lost the match by 24 runs while chasing a target of 248 runs. However, the bigger concern came in the final over when the left-arm pacer was struck on his left arm by a delivery from Shamar Joseph. With the series decider approaching, India's medical team will assess his condition to determine whether he can play the next match.

The Punjab-born pacer was retired hurt after scoring five runs off four balls, bringing India's innings to an end at 223 in 19.4 overs. The injury raised concerns about his fitness, as India may need his services in the final match of the series. The fifth T20I is scheduled to take place on October 17 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. His availability will be important for India as they look to win the series.

The injury scare came after India had already lost nine wickets while chasing West Indies' total of 247/3. Keemo Paul played a key role in the hosts' defeat, taking five wickets and putting pressure on the Indian batting line-up. Seeing Arshdeep in pain, captain Shreyas Iyer asked him to retire hurt rather than risk further injury. India will now hope that the pacer recovers in time for the series decider.

How Arshdeep got injured and what the video shows

Arshdeep Singh suffered an injury scare during the final over of India's chase against West Indies in the fourth T20I. Facing Shamar Joseph, the Indian pacer was struck on his left arm by a fast, short delivery while attempting to move away and play the ball. He immediately showed signs of pain and went down on the field, forcing the Indian physio to come out and check his condition. The incident raised concerns about his fitness as India approached the end of their innings.

Before the injury, Arshdeep had started the over with a boundary towards deep backward point. However, he struggled against Joseph's bowling after that and was struck by the rising delivery. The 27-year-old was visibly uncomfortable and crouched down on the field following the impact. After receiving medical attention, he tried to continue batting and faced another delivery, but the pain made it difficult for him to carry on.

With India needing 35 runs from the final six balls, Arshdeep eventually left the field after scoring five runs off four deliveries. Captain Shreyas Iyer asked the pacer to retire hurt, bringing India's innings to an end with two balls remaining. India finished at 223 in 19.4 overs, falling 24 runs short of West Indies' target of 248. The video of the incident shows the moment Arshdeep was struck, received treatment and struggled to continue, making it a worrying end to India's fourth T20I.

What Arshdeep’s injury means for India and his fitness update

The BCCI has not yet released an official update on Arshdeep Singh's shoulder injury. The Indian pacer was forced to retire hurt during the fourth T20I against West Indies after being struck by a short delivery from Shamar Joseph. The severity of the injury is still unclear, and his condition will need to be assessed before the team makes a decision about his availability for the next match.

Arshdeep has only a few days to recover before India face West Indies in the fifth and final T20I of the series. The match is scheduled to take place at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday, October 17. India will hope the left-arm pacer recovers in time, as his bowling could be important in the series decider.

Arshdeep's fitness is also important with India's upcoming T20I series against New Zealand on the schedule. He has been selected for the series, and his ability to take early wickets with the new ball is expected to be valuable for the team. However, his participation in the upcoming matches will depend on his recovery and the medical team's assessment. India will wait for further updates before making a final decision on his availability.
