Asia Cup 2027 schedule and venue details have reportedly emerged, with Bangladesh set to host. Here's what's known so far about dates, format, and whether India and Pakistan could clash again on the continental stage
With the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 dates finalized, the focus has slowly shifted to the Men’s Asia Cup 2027, which will be good preparation for teams participating in the ODI World Cup 2027 in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia. India will enter the tournament as the defending champions.
Due to the ODI World Cup happening next year, the 2027 edition of the Asia Cup will be in the 50-over format. Even though the conditions in South Africa and Bangladesh will be poles apart, the teams can value their time in the middle with some fierce encounters.

The 2027 Asia Cup competition is scheduled to take place in Bangladesh from June 18 to July 04, 2027. The games are expected to be played in three probable venues: Dhaka (Mirpur), Chattogram, and Sylhet. The final is expected to take place at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has been considering preparing bouncy tracks in Bangladesh for the teams to prepare for the World Cup 2027. India and Pakistan are expected to be in the same group and could face each other thrice if they meet each other in the final.
It was 2014 when these two arch-rivals met each other during the Asia Cup in Bangladesh, where the Pakistan side beat the blue brigade by one wicket in the chase of 246 runs with two balls to spare in a close encounter.

The very first season of the Asia Cup took place in 1984 at the United Arab Emirates, where the Indian side won the competition. They are the defending champions for the last two editions of the event, as they won the championship in 2023, when the tournament was held jointly by Pakistan and Sri Lanka, and in 2025 at the UAE in the T20I format.

In the last five seasons of the event, the Shubman Gill-led side has won the competition four times. The only other winner was in 2022 when Sri Lanka won the event in the UAE. The last time Pakistan won the competition was in 2012, held in Bangladesh.
India, meanwhile, had a hat-trick of titles in the Asia Cup when they claimed the title on three successive seasons in 1988, 1990/91, and 1995.
