Fan injures Babar Azam during President's Trophy comeback

Babar Azam, the Test captain of the Pakistan side, Babar Azam, has made his comeback to the domestic cricket after a very long time as it brought several fans and drew excitement among the fans in Abbottabad. However, a video went viral on social media when a fan was seen injuring Babar in the field.

His interaction was cut short when the security officials rushed into the middle and took him into custody. The fan was then escorted away from the area as the security dealt with the pitch invasion.

However, as the fan was getting away from the Pakistan star, he held his hand and stretched his arms, which seemed to have injured the player, who seemed to be in mild pain after that. Despite that, he appeared to take notice of the situation and tried to help the fans.

He sent one of his teammates from Pakistan, Jahandad Khan, to speak with the security and requested the supporter’s release. The officials didn’t agree to the request, as the fan remained in their custody. The incident has reflected both the poor security of the domestic games and the strong bond between the fans and Babar, even after the latter’s recent criticism over his performances.

Babar has overall gathered 6823 runs in 177 innings of first-class cricket at an average of more than 42, with the help of 12 centuries and 46 half-centuries at the best score of 266 runs. Babar notched up a couple of half-centuries during the two Test matches against the West Indies in Trinidad. He was out of the opening Test against England in Headingley before failing in the next three innings at Lord’s and Edgbaston.

In the final innings of the series, the right-handed batter smashed 76 runs. However, he has been without a century for a long time in the five-day format and hopes to end the century drought in the longest format during the upcoming home series against Sri Lanka.
