Batting Coach Sitanshu Kotak says KL Rahul Has Accepted Batting At 6

Kl Rahul is considered as most diplomatic player who can acquire the position according to team combination. Currently Rahul is playing as wicket keeper batsman for ongoing Champions Trophy. Its not now that Kl has done this, he is been doing this for a while. Even coach has also talked to him about this which gives leisure of playing an extra bowler or an batsman. 

At his start of his career Rahul prominently played as top order batsman and at his start of his career in IPL too he played as top order batsman too. It were times he had to wait for his chances due to growing competition in the team.  Even too got dropped which Rahul discussed about it.

Turing the Tides On

Once dropped from the team it's not an easy task to come back you have to give the performances which should impress the selectors. Rahul had the impressive season of IPL where he was selected as backup for wicket keeper role as he did earlier for RCB too. That were times when Rishab Pant had an major accident while driving and damaged his leg which resulted him for 1 year away tenure. Then Kl was called back to national duty. 

As ODI World Cup was nearing team India announced their squad with Rahul as their wicketkeeper. India had a wonderful tenure in World Cup except for the final, even Rahul was tried in the middle and finishing position in the World Cup too. He excelled in it but in final couldn't prolong his innings where India couldn't post the total and lost the final.

Rahul Has Accepted The Versatile Role

There has been debate all round that Kl has been demoted to number 6 position against Australia in semi final which had a wide spread debate on it even experts asked about it. Even Coach Gautam Gambhir was asked about it in which he replied that it is a lesiure for team if you have a batsman like that and a team which has such a deep batting gives a pleasure. 

Batting coach Sitanshu Kotak has also derived that Kl Rahul has accepted his role wholeheartedly which gives a batting depth. Rahul at number 5 and 6 has had huge success scoring above 1000 runs. The way he adapts to the situation gives the team the control that every team is aching for, against Australia in a semi-final 42 not finishing the game with a six that is how he has adapted to the situation and the demand that the team requires. It's one more game against the black caps and Rahul's presence and his batting would be valuable.
