Bihar’s new cricket stadium gears up for action with modern infrastructure

Cricket in Bihar is marking a new milestone with the near conclusion of Rajgir International Cricket Stadium. The Building Construction Department announced that pavilion and ground are now ready for practice and training. This is a massive leap forward for a state that has long wished for a modern cricket stadium.

The new stadium has been built as the full BCCI instructions, with a seating capacity for approximately 45000 people. It occupies 18 acres of land and features a five-storey pavilion, which includes facilities for players, officials, media and VIPs. It is anticipated that this will encourage the development of cricket in the state of Bihar and attract national or international tournaments to the state. For many fans and young cricketers, this is a moment they have waited many years for and will provide them some hope and pride.

The Rajgir Stadium’s design was based on the best venues seen in India and outside of India. The stadium’s engineers took notes on about how these structures operate so that a modern, world class facility would be built in Bihar. The Building Construction Department noted this will give Bihar a “new identity on the sports map of India” and is a “big leap forward” for cricket in Bihar.

Modern Features and Match-Ready Pitches

The stadium includes advanced facilities such as a gym, spa, physiotherapy room, and medical center. For spectators and media, it has commentary boxes, camera decks, and corporate suites. The playing field, prepared under the guidance of the BCCI’s Chief Curator, has 13 pitches, seven made with Mokama’s black soil for extra bounce and six with Maharashtra’s red soil to help spin bowlers.

The lush green outfield and efficient drainage system make it ready for matches even after heavy rain. Rajgir Stadium is all set to become the pride of Bihar and a new hub for cricket in eastern India.
