It was their second-fastest successful T20I chase for India Women against Sri Lanka Women.

In the Sri Lankan innings, only the skipper and opener Chamari Athapaththu managed to attack the Indian bowlers, as she scored 31 off 23 balls with three fours and two sixes before Sneh Rana dismissed her in the last over of the powerplay. Hasini Perera (22) and Harshitha Samarawickrama (33) were the only other batters in that innings to score 20+ runs, but they hardly managed to attack the Indian bowlers, as the boundaries were dried in the second half of the innings.
Shree Charani (2/23) and Vaishnavi Sharma (2/27) picked up two wickets each, while Kranti Gaud (1/21) and Sneh Rana (1/11) got one wicket each. Rana impressed with her bowling figures of 4-1-11-1 with 16 dot balls.

In reply, although Smriti Mandhana was dismissed after scoring 14 off 11 balls, Shafali Verma smashed 69 not out off 34 balls with the help of 11 fours and one six. While Verma won the Player of the Match award, the previous match's best player Jemimah Rodrigues scored 26 off 15 balls. Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur was dismissed for 10 runs, while Richa Ghosh scored 1 not out to secure the victory for the hosts.
